Draw Your Fields on a Satellite Map
Outline field boundaries on satellite imagery and let CropBuddy calculate the area in hectares from the shape you draw.
Key benefits
- Draw field boundaries directly on satellite imagery
- Area calculated in hectares from the drawn polygon
- Boundary coordinates stored with the field record
- Crop and status shown alongside the mapped field
How it works
Open the map, draw the outline of a parcel and CropBuddy computes the enclosed area in hectares using a geodesic area calculation. The boundary coordinates are stored with the field, so the shape is there the next time you open the map, together with the crop and status you recorded for that field.
Frequently asked questions
What does CropBuddy cost right now?
The current public beta is free and no payment card is required. Future pricing and plan limits are not final yet, so we don't promise a permanent free tier.
How is the area calculated?
From the polygon you draw, using a geodesic area calculation that returns hectares. It reflects the outline you draw, so accuracy depends on how carefully you trace the parcel.
Do I need GPS hardware?
No. You draw the boundary on satellite imagery in the browser.
Can I edit a boundary later?
Yes. You can redraw a field boundary and the stored area is recalculated from the new shape.
