How it works
Start by adding the inventory item and its storage location, such as seed in a shed, crop chemical in the chemical store or harvested grain in a bin. Set a low-stock threshold if you want one. When you set up field work, configure the materials it is expected to use. At confirmed task completion, enter the actual amounts used; CropBuddy records those confirmed quantities and deducts them once in the same protected completion step. A task does not deduct stock when it starts, and tasks without configured materials do not change inventory.

What does CropBuddy cost right now?
The current public beta is free and no payment card is required. The planned subscription is $24.99 USD/month for 5 users, plus $1.99 USD/month for each additional user. Paid subscriptions are not available yet, and there is no launch date. Any future paid subscription requires explicit opt-in.
How does material deduction work?
You configure the materials a task will use, then confirm the quantities actually used when the task is completed. Those confirmed quantities are deducted from storage in one atomic step. No stock is deducted when a task starts, and tasks without configured materials do not change stock.
Can I track items in more than one store?
Yes. Each item has a location field, so you can separate barns, sheds and silos.
Do I get a low-stock warning?
Yes. Set a threshold per item and CropBuddy flags the item once the quantity drops to or below it.
Which units are used?
New inventory items use US units: pounds, gallons, bushels, short tons, each or bags.
